Firefly’s 2027 Touring Production:
YOU'RE A GOOD MAN, CHARLIE BROWN
"Happiness is...A SCHOOL TOUR!" Firefly’s Touring Production is the heart of our mission and one of our most beloved programs. Each spring, a cast of homeschool performers brings a fully mobile musical to audiences across the Mid-South, reaching more than 3,000 people through 15+ performances.
Our tour visits elementary schools of all shapes and sizes as well as community spaces like the Children’s Museum of Memphis, the Memphis Zoo, and the Overton Park Shell, bringing the magic of live theatre directly to families and students who may not otherwise experience it.
This production features talented homeschool students and is designed to make live theatre more accessible than ever. Thanks to the generosity of donors and community supporters, all performances are completely free for host venues.

Who Can Audition?
Homeschool students entering 6th grade through 12th grade (rising seniors welcome!).
**You must have been in two Firefly productions to qualify for auditions (this includes classes, camps, and shows. Not workshops)**
What to Know:
Because of the unique nature of our touring production, we will be casting a very small ensemble of committed and adaptable performers. In the past, our largest cast has been eleven performers. Space constraints at venues, travel logistics, and performance demands limit the cast size, and it also creates a special experience for our group.
If you are not cast for this tour, we strongly encourage you to consider enrolling in one of our fall educational productions - The Sound of Music Youth Edition and Matilda Jr.

Performance Schedule:
The tour kicks off Friday, February 5, 2027, with performances every Friday (excluding March 13 and March 26) through the end of April. The last performance date could be April 30th. Final dates will depend on venue interest and community demand. Each Friday will include two performances at different locations.

Commitment & Expectations:
Being part of the Firefly tour is an exciting opportunity—but it’s also a serious responsibility.
Cast members are expected to:

Perform two shows every Friday at different venues

Participate in loading in/out and supporting the team

Arrive at the first rehearsal fully memorized

Come prepared with all blocking, choreography, and music learned

Maintain a professional attitude throughout the entire process
This is a team effort. Every person matters. We are looking for students who are reliable, respectful, and ready to represent Firefly Creative with excellence.
A cast contract will be required upon acceptance.
AUDITION MATERIALS
Audition materials including the dance audition, vocal audition, and monologues will be available in mid-May 2026 to audition registrants.
